Schalke 04 buhlt um Obafemi Martins

Obafemi Akinwunmi Martins (The Weapon of Mass Destruction) is set to become the next top rated Nigerian striker to find his range in Germany, as offers from SV Hamburg and Schalke 04 have been lined up to take him in the footsteps of Jonathan Akpoborie, Victor Okechukwu Agali and Ishiaku Manaseh. The new lease of life is coming Obafemi’s way, following heated reports that Newcastle United are set for a massive summer clear out, but cannot wait any longer on dilly-dallying offers from Fiorentina and AC Parma, amidst speculation that Arsenal could also be interested in taking on the former Inter Milan of Italy fleet-footed star.

The Magpies are now getting desperate to offload top rated [players like Obagol, and may rush into talks with Chrisantus Macaulay’s club, Hamburg or Agali’s former team, Schalke, as latest reports indicate that Newcastle’s wage bill will be slashed from 75 to 30 million pounds for Toon's debut in the English Championship.
